Hawley Families...An update on Lon Davis.. Doctors operated on his spleen last night. They were able to repair rather than remove it. Mom says they were able to get his vitals more stable in the last 10-15 minutes. He is still in a lot of pain and running fever. W've had a few people ask about making donations to help with medical costs and expenses for his family having to stay in DFW. Donations can be made at the Hawley Administration Building or at the Hawley High School Office.
We received word this morning we will be getting a discount code for the state game for our fans and parents. We will push it out as soon as possible.

We are so very proud of Coach Ables and the Bearcats!! I have no doubt our community will show up big to support them! We want to make sure that families travel safely and have an amazing experience. I don’t like to throw around early outs, late starts, and cancellations loosely. We haven’t even hit winter yet and I want to make sure we are able to make good safety decisions when bad weather hits. That being said, we will have an early release at 2:00pm on Thursday. There will be a send-off at 2:15. Parents, if you need to grab your kids before 2:00, please come in and sign them out. On Friday, we will have a 10:00 start. The cafeteria will be open at 8:30 for students who need to be dropped off earlier. I know it will be tempting to just keep kids home, but we have just a few days left in the semester and have a great possibility of needing to adjust the schedule the following week. What a way to end the semester!!!
Hawley Beatcats will play Marlin at 7:00 on Thursday in Weatherford. Hawley ISD will have a 2:00 release on Thursday to allow families plenty of time to travel safely. I know I-20 will be a zoo. We will be doing pre-sale of tickets at admin and HS M-Th, and also at the BB game Tuesday evening. That’s all the details I know at the moment. More info to come!

Hawley employees and parents.... we are seeing a slight increase in our number of families who are dealing with COVID. We would appreciate your diligence in monitoring your child for symptoms. Hawley ISD enrolled in a state COVID testing program back in the beginning of the semester. I received tests right before Thanksgiving that I ordered in September. I will now be able to open up free COVID testing to employees and students. Individuals interested in testing will need to complete the registration at the bottom of the district website on the quick links! Testing is available on school days only. Test registration should be completed by 7:00AM. Testing will begin at 8:00AM at the rear of the administration office. Testing will be first come-first served. The test takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Please be at the back of the admin office at 8:00AM and stay in your vehicle. We will come to you.. If you have questions about testing, please email cmcbrayer@hawley.esc14.net.

Hawley ISD enrolled in a state COVID testing program back in the beginning of the semester. I received tests right before Thanksgiving that I ordered in September. I will now be able to open up free COVID testing to employees and students. I am a little apprehensive because we have no idea how many people will need to get tested from time to time, and we aren’t adding staff to do testing. We aren’t a clinic, but maybe we can save parents a little time and prevent exposure to other things you could pick up while in the doctor’s office. Please bear with us as we navigate it. Individuals interested in having their child tested will need to complete the registration at the link below. It can also be found at the bottom of the district website on the quick links! Testing is available on school days only. Test registration should be completed by 7:00AM. Testing will begin at 8:00AM at the rear of the administration office. Testing will be first come-first served. The test takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Please make sure that you check the email address that you provide in your registration. If there are a significant number of individuals who need to be tested, you will be contacted about a time to arrive. If you do not receive any other communication, please be at the back of the admin office at 8:00AM and stay in your vehicle. We will come to you. I will get an email when you register, so I will be able to have some idea of how many will be needing to be tested. If your child wakes up sick or gets sent home from school with symptoms and you want to see about getting them tested at any other time in the day, please call the office at 325-537-2214 or email me. If you have questions about testing, please email cmcbrayer@hawley.esc14.net. You can also message me on Facebook. Email is the most guaranteed way to make sure I see it!
