Hawley Elementary and Hawley Middle School allow students to wear a hat on Fridays if they pay $1. These funds go to different programs and projects. This Friday, HES and HMS will be donating their hat proceeds to the Hawley Volunteer Fire Department. We hope all of our students will help us tip our hats to these heroes!
Help the Bearcats and Tigers honor our First Responders who serve and support our communities. Come out to see a great football game and let your gate admission donation support the Hawley Volunteer Fire Department. All current and retired first responders are invited to join the teams on the field for the National Anthem, prior to the district football game. Please report to the East End Zone at 7:00pm. After the teams have entered the field, we will ask you to stand with them, so that we can show our appreciation for your service to the Hawley and Anson communities.
Can't attend a Bearcat game? Watch any of our home football, volleyball, or basketball games on the NFHS network at

Hawley ISD has been cooperating with the Hawley Police Department in an investigation of claims of a student making threats to other students at the Homecoming game. Over 30 students have been interviewed with law enforcement and administration present. All parents of those students have been contacted throughout the investigation. Federal and State privacy laws protect student information, so the district is very limited in the information that can be shared with anyone other than the parents of the students involved. What I can tell you, is that in all of the students’ interviews, not one single student has reported the individual actually saying anything inappropriate to them personally. All that students have reported is hearing other students talking about it, or other students telling them things were said. There have also been rumors of threatening videos. Again, any student’s name that has been brought to our attention, has been, or is currently being interviewed. None of those interviewed have personally seen a threatening video, only heard other kids talking about it. If you or your child have first-hand information that needs to be considered, please contact the school. We continue to take very seriously any claims that have been made and will continue to investigate as new information comes to light. I have two children in the district and there was no hesitation on my part to send them to school today. If I EVER felt there was a confirmed threat to your child’s safety, you would know. We have added law enforcement presence, as well as authorized several employees on each campus to carry daily. These measures were not put in place as a response to this situation. They were decided in the early spring as a way to increase our ability to keep your children safe. Any of our administration is more than happy to visit personally with individuals who are concerned about the situation or the district’s response. We will answer any questions we are legally able to answer.
Bearcat kids....we need your help! We will be starting a new Bearcat cleanup at Friday Varsity Football games. The first 10 Bearcat students that report to the concession stand immediately at the buzzer to begin the 4th quarter will be given a trash bag. Help us keep our facilities clean! Fill up your bag with trash from around the stadium and bring it back to the concession stand for a free drink and candy bar.

The IRS is reaching out to America’s school districts asking them to help spread the word about the 2021 Advance Child Tax Credit payments, which could be to up to $1,800 per qualifying child. These payments are made automatically to taxpayers who qualified based on their 2020 federal income tax return.
There may be some eligible families who are not receiving these advance payments and who are unsure of what to do to receive them or where to go for answers. More information can be found at the link below.
