Lanie and Skylar were selected from many students from around this area who applied to represent this area in DC. Congrats Lainey and Skylar. Youth Tour is a week-long trip to our nation’s capital where top high school students across the country get the opportunity to visit historic sites and
improve their leadership skills. President Lyndon B. Johnson explained it well when he initiated the program in 1957 by saying, “sending youngsters to the national capital where they can actually see what the flag stands for and represents.” They will get to see first-hand how the political process works, meet exceptional leaders and attend tours of Capitol Hill, the Supreme court, the Smithsonian and more.
