"On April 22, 2023 we had 9 7th and 8th grade students participate in the Jr. Vase art competition at Madison Middle School in Abilene. It's been 4 years since we have been able to attend in person and the students were excited to participating this year. 8 of the 9 students received all 4 for their score and received medals. The art 1 students included Elizabeth Guidera, Alyson Doughty, Michael Winegeart, Braxton Newcomb. The 8th graders in high school art 1 competed in a level 4 category. That means the students probably were competing again other who had a little experience in art. They did a wonderful job. All four students received metals. They include Elizabeth Cummings, Jake Hines, Trysten Davis and Ryland Trojcak. It not an easy contest there in a lot of work involved, but this kids did the work and reap the awards. I want to say thank you to the parents for their support for our program and to the students what a great job!! We had 1 students who made platinum and received another metal. This award is equivalent to high going to state and only one percent get picked for this award. This is Alyson Doughty. Congratulations to her for a great job."  Renetta Verette
